What If It Were Your Surgeon?

OPUS had its first opportunity to do a personality profile on a surgeon.  In this case, it was a Mohel, the person that performs circumcisions in accordance to the ritual laws of the Jewish faith.  So, if you were guessing, what do you think you would like to see the profile of your Mohel be?  Assertive?  Impatient?  How about attention to detail?  Hmmm... Makes you squirm a little bit doesn't it?  Do you really care about how high his extroversion trait is?  No...  I don't think so (yet we judge doctors based on their "bedside manner").  If it were my Mohel, I would like to see his attention to detail and patience traits very high, and I wouldn't much care if he was the friendliest guy on the block.  As you contemplate the "perfect" profile for a surgeon, here's the question for you?  Wouldn't you want to know?  And if you could possibly have a definitive answer, wouldn't that be better than just guessing, or, in some cases, praying?  I think so.

 

Now carry that thought over to the candidate that is sitting in front of you, or the employee that is making you crazy.  Wouldn't you be better off knowing his/her strengths, challenges, and optimum working environment?  This person might not be performing a delicate surgical procedure on you or a family member, but the role they play in your organization is clearly important to you. Why wouldn't you want every possible advantage by knowing exactly what this person's personality profile is?  You tell me.

 

Curious about the profile results on our favorite Mohel?  His highest traits were patience and conformity.  His low traits were dominance and extroversion.  Seven day old babies and their nervous parents can breathe a sigh of relief.

This 75 minute webinar focuses on how a salesperson can take advantage of whatever their natural behavioral style is and use it to their maximum advantage in the selling process.  Will a high patience salesperson take the same route to a deal that a high dominance salesperson will take?  Absolutely not.  That said, how do they utilize their strengths of listening skills, persistence, and consultative nature to their advantage, and just how do they create a sense of urgency in the sales process in order to bring a deal to conclusion?  This, and more, much more, is reviewed in this  session.

This is a terrific book about an incredible person.  Success may look easy in the rear view mirror, but Einstein's effort, struggles, and incredible optimism make for a very interesting book.  Now if we could only figure out a way to get him to do his personality profile...  If you read the book, contact me and we can compare notes on what we think his profile would have been.  I definitely have an opinion.
